This is a simple recipe for oven-roasted garlic lemon broccoli. It pairs well with foods such as our recipe for oven baked salmon with lemon.
Oven-Roasted Lemon Garlic Broccoli Ingredients
- Two to three broccoli heads
- Salt
- Pepper
- Garlic
- Lemon
- Olive oil
If you’re not sure how much broccoli to get: You want as many as you think you can fit onto a baking pan after chopping off the florets (a fancy word for tree head thingies.)
Preparing Oven Roasted Lemon Garlic Broccoli
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit or 200 degrees Celcius.
Chop your broccoli into florets and throw away the big icky stemmy part. Put everything but the lemon into a bowl. You should use about a teaspoon each of salt and pepper, one or two garlic cloves chopped finely, and two to four teaspoons of olive oil.
Toss it all about until the broccoli is completely coated.
Roast in the oven until you can easily push through the broccoli with a fork. This usually takes between fifteen and twenty minutes.
Put as much lemon juice as you want on there. I recommend using lots.
The important thing to keep in mind is that too much lemon juice will leave the whole thing tasting sour. But not using enough makes the whole thing taste like broccoli. After a few attempts with this broccoli recipe you should find a balance that works for you.
This broccoli makes a great vegetable to use as a side or a simple vegetarian snack.
